Mountwood Park ATV
Mountwood Park ATV Trails is a 605-acre Wood County park in Waverly, West Virginia, approximately 15 miles south of Parkersburg in the Ohio River Valley region of northern West Virginia. The park features 23 miles of marked and rated ATV trails through forested hills of the Mid-Ohio Valley, a geographically distinct zone from the coalfield OHV areas of southern West Virginia that dominate the state's off-road reputation. Trail ratings span from easy to difficult across several interconnected loop systems, making Mountwood one of the more accessible beginner-friendly OHV destinations in the state without sacrificing options for intermediate riders. Wood County Parks operates the facility, which also includes campgrounds, picnic shelters, a fishing lake, disc golf, and equestrian trails, making it a genuine multi-use recreation destination rather than a dedicated OHV facility. ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes are permitted on designated OHV trails. The county-park setting and northern WV location give Mountwood a distinctive character compared to the southern WV systems: less extreme, more family-oriented, and within day-trip range of Parkersburg, Marietta OH, and the I-77 corridor.
